New Fuck Buttons - The Red Wing (Edit)

Four years after the release of the spiraling geometry that was Tarot Sport, Bristol UK duo Fuck Buttons are finally primed to release a follow-up.

News of the upcoming third album Slow Focus got out a few weeks ago, but now there's a first taste. "Red Wing," like most of what Fuck Buttons does, is likely part of a wider, more grand album-scale approach. And unsurprisingly, this edited version is not the whole track - considering most Fuck Buttons tracks drift around eight or nine minutes.

Glass Candy video - Beautiful Object

The newest Super 8 sloshed video from the depths of the recently released After Dark 2 comes from one Johnny Jewel's most celebrated variants, Glass Candy.

"Beautiful Object," directed by Martin D'Argensio, isn't as symbol heavy as previous videos from GC, but the chromed 70s polish on lighting is still clear as day. Watch it below and download the awesome compilation record After Dark 2 here, via Italians Do It Better.

Stream: Handbook - Rare Ivory EP

The latest release from UK producer Handbook, the Rare Ivory EP, is largely constructed out of piano-laden concepts - in case that wasn't apparent from the title or album cover. The four original instrumentals fill out with plush piano circulating throughout, driven by heavy soul beats in between the lines.

The EP also boasts some feverish remixes from the likes of Astronautica, Mike Gao, Benedek, and Papi, filling out the free download quite nicely. Stream the whole thing below, or head to Handbook's Bandcamp for the download.

Mixtape: Alexander Spit - Mansions 2 (Instrumental)

After the early 2013 release of his masterful debut A Breathtaking Trip To That Other Side, West Coast rapper Alexander Spit doubled-up his strong year with Mansions 2, his supreme 25-track instrumental-only mixtape. This collection, however, is available for free download - although getting every individual track on Soundcloud seems to be somewhat of a chore. If that task proves a little tiresome, simply stream the whole thing below.

Disclosure - You & Me [ft. Eliza Doolittle (Toro y Moi Remix)]

Disclosure, the exploding English EDM duo that just seems to be a shade of everywhere at the moment, may make some shudder. The Ultra Music friendly aura of instantly catchy dance tracks don't scream for effortless complexity, but that tone might change with this brand new Toro y Moi take on the duo's hit "You & Me," featuring Eliza Doolittle.

The front-faced vocals are turned to mimicking loops, with humbled summery production cruising right through. The energy, for fans of the original, isn't at all similar, but it's a noble take that turns in a surprising direction. Stream it below.

Album Stream: Jon Hopkins - Immunity

A week before celebrated British producer and composer Jon Hopkins debuts his new album Immunity, fans can stream the full LP via NPR.

The swirling minimalist haze of the album begins with "We Disappear," with Hopkins transfixing motioning beats drifting further and further inward through echoed multitudes. It's a similar technique heard throughout the album, which features another lengthy and mesmerizing gem, "Open Eye Signal," which featured a video premiere late last month that is available below.

New CHVRCHES - Gun

After last year's "The Mother We Share," and the early 2013 breakout single "Recover," Scottish trio CHVRCHES are clearly on the way to indie-pop stardom. The newest single from the group, "Gun," does nothing but support that claim, with sugary hooks and enchanting singing from frontwoman Lauren Mayberry. Check it out below, which will be featured on the group's debut full-length LP later this year.

Treasureseason - Puget Sound

After debuting nearly a year ago with the Ocean Beach EP, native English duo Treasureseason have returned with an upcoming Double A-Side 7", featuring the bonus "Puget Sound."

The glossy, finely spaced plush pop track is available as a free download from the duo's website. Otherwise, Treasureseason will be releasing the "Archipelago"/"Don't Hold Back" single June 24, available to pre-order as a download or limited-edition white vinyl 7" via Coja Records. Only 250 copies of the 7" will be available.

Mixtape: Jet Age Of Tomorrow - Jellyfish Mentality

Producer duo Jet Age Of Tomorrow, comprised of Matt Martians and Hal Williams, debuted the third free album from their project since the 2010 debut Voyager, with Jellyfish Mentality. The mixtape, available to stream below and download here, features past collaborators Odd Future, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, Casey Veggies, and plenty more guest appearances. "Panic On Pluto," as well, was co-produced by SBTRKT.

Orphan - Hours

Several weeks back little-known London producer Orphan debuted "Hours," a haunting and delicate minimalist piece from her five-track Retakes EP. Alongside a free release of the EP, available to download here courtesy of Kaleidoscope Records, Orphan debuted a black-and-white accompanying video for "Hours." Taking the songs static structure, the video simply acts as a canvas for the intricate movements of the piece.

Early last month, HAERTS released the glistening pop-at-heart gem "Wings", which, if you're familiar, should get you excited about anything new from the band. "All The Days", the band's newest, is as boisterous and jubilantly melodic as its lofty predecessor, which should earn the five-piece some decent hype.

New Boards Of Canada - Reach For The Dead

After walking through cryptic Record Store Day loops, the ever-elusive and admirable Scottish brother duo Boards Of Canada has released the first full-fledged track from its upcoming Tomorrow's Harvest LP.

The hazy death walk of "Reach For The Dead" came a day after the duo pulled off the mysterious Tokyo promotion, which counted down the first world-premiere of the official full new material. The album is the first studio LP in the Boards Of Canada catalog in nearly eight years.

Early last week, Montreal's Ryan Hemsworth dropped the lead single "Perfectly" from his Still Awake EP, which he made available to stream in its entirety. It's another notch in the young producer's ever-expanding belt, which includes countless remixes and mixtapes just from the first half of 2013 alone.

Doldrums - Holographic Sandcastles

Director Winston Hacking put together an ambient swing of swirling colors and specters in the newest video from Montreal producer Doldrums for "Holographic Sandcastles."

The track comes from Doldrums' latest album Lesser Evil, supplying the subtle 8-bit scores with singer Sami Nacomi contributing on vocals. Watch it below and grab Lesser Evil today on Arbutus Records.

Ras G - Happy Arrival Day Mister Ra

As is most things surrounding the legacy of legendary jazz composer Sun Ra, the tribute to the posthumous figure from human music encyclopedia Ras G is tripped out, and positively other-worldly. The scoped-out vision of "Happy Arrival Day Mister Ra" features selected spoken words from the song's subject (and Moog segments), laced with computer-glitchy sound effects from various past space programs. It's a special creation from Ras, who has gone on record as being a very, very big fan of Ra, who would be celebrating his 99th birthday today.

New Madlib - The Mad March

Those who keep endless tabs on LA producer Madlib will note that the seminal hip-hop craftsmen will be bringing an exclusive Sound Of Zamrock show to the 1015 Folsom in San Francisco June 7. For those who may be unaware, the Zamrock moniker is directed at one of the producer's favorite lesser-known scenes, '70s Zambia rock and soul. This isn't his first venture into the Zambia scene, which was the main focus of his 2010 7-album release Beat Konducta.

"The Mad March", which is available to stream below, will be sold in extremely limited quantities (300 to be exact) as a 45, only at Sound Of Zamrock. But knowing Madlib, expect a lot of Rock Konducta material to be released in the near future.

New Jacques Greene - On Your Side (ft. How To Dress Well)

Details of the forthcoming EP release from Montreal producer Jacques Greene are finally seeing the light of day. The full tracklist, which is available at FACTMag, also contains this new cut featuring the help of How To Dress Well. Aesthetically speaking, considering Greene's penchant for combing house and R&B, it's a perfect match that suits the two parties well.

Stream "On Your Side" below. Greene's EP of the same name will be released digitally June 3, with physical copies coming out July 1. Pre-orders are available now, which will come with the radio edit title track which premiered today on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show.

Mixtape: Natural Self - Neon Hurtz

Bridging off his recently released Neon Hurts My Eyes LP, UK producer Natural Self released a bonus accompanying mixtape Neon Hertz. In the mix, he included a few of his own originals, along with tracks from Colin Stetson, Thom Yorke, Beak>, Portishead, Bjork, and plenty more.

The National perform "Don't Swallow The Cap" on Letterman

Before today's release of the super-anticipated Trouble Will Find Me, The National hit last night's Late Show with David Letterman to perform the LP's early standout "Don't Swallow The Cap".

Last night's live version featured a ring of string and complimentary horn pieces, as well as Doveman, aka Thomas Bartlett coming in on keys, making for a fairly grand performance. Watch the whole thing below, and grab Trouble Will Find Me today(!) on 4AD.

Bonus: The National just announced the band will be performing with Dirty Projectors June 7 at the Mann Center in Philadelphia. Tickets for the event will start at $39.50, and will be sure to sell out quickly.

New Smith Westerns - 3 a.m. Spiritual

Two months back, we got out first taste of "Varsity", the lead single from Smith Westerns' upcoming third LP Soft Will. And now, nearly a month before the album's scheduled release date, the Chicago band released the tempered "3 a.m. Spiritual". It's as close to what may have been referred to as a ballad, had this band been around in the '60s, with the echo-chamber guitars sweetly falling into a make-or-break finale.

New CX Kidtronik - Lady's Krak P.S.A. (ft. Lady Miss Kier, Ladybug Mecca)

Last March, Stones Throw fellow CX Kidtronik debuted his magnetic and cutthroat "Locked In". The furiously cerebral track brought in likable comparisons to Death Grips, but that's mostly based on the tantric energy on display. Two months later and we finally get the second taste of his upcoming Krak Attack 2: The Battle Of Eli Skiff LP, with "Lady Krak P.S.A".

This time around, Kidtronik stays off the verses, with Lady Miss Kier and Digable Planets' member Ladybug Mecca contributing. It may not be as entirely abrasive as the aforementioned "Locked In", but the production techniques are no joke. There's a really heavy vibe here, and that's worth noting enough.

Watch Fred Armisen's well-deserved goodbye from Saturday Night Live

For those that may have missed the season finale of Saturday Night Live, the show was notable for several reasons. It was the fifth time Ben Affleck, now an Oscar-winning director, hosted, and Kanye West performed some insane new material from his upcoming Yeezus album. But, at least for myself, what ended up stealing the show was the delightful and heartfelt send-off the two of the show's biggest names - Bill Hader and Fred Armisen.

The former saw the epic finale of his beloved Stefon character during weekend update, but the final moment belonged to Armisen. Staying in his Ian Rubbish character, Armisen, with Hader on bass and Jason Sudeikis (also rumored to be leaving) on drums, was joined on stage by his Portlandia counterpart Carrie Brownstein, along with a litany of musicians who've appeared on the show, including; Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Kim Gordon, J Mascis, Aimie Mann, and Michael Penn. Considering how much Armisen loved the initial Ian Rubbish skit and how his career started as a member of punk band Trenchmouth, this couldn't have been set up better.

New Pure Bathing Culture - Pendulum

Following up their 2012 self-titled debut, Danielle Hindman and Sarah Versprille (of Vetiver), released the gloriously polished and atomically sweet "Pendulum" from Pure Bathing Culture's upcoming Moon Tides. The fantastic single will be the lead track on the new LP, which is slated for release August 19 in the UK and August 20 through the Brooklyn-based Partisan Records.

New Wu-Tang Clan - Execution In Autumn

With A Better Tomorrow set for release in July, the Wu-Tang Clan dug deep into the RZA vaults to unveil the previously unreleased "Execution In Autumn." It's classic Wu, featuring the aforementioned RZA, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, and U-God, with production from Frank Dukes.

Whether or not "Execution In Autumn" makes the release of A Better Tomorrow isn't certain, however. This could just be a cool prize beforehand. The single will be available as a 7" as well for a surprisingly decent $.50, with an instrumental B-Side. Buy the 7" here from RZA's Soul Temple imprint, or listen to the track below.

There's always the feeling of golden discovery when you come across a glorious Bandcamp EP. The newest in your collection comes from London producer Tiger Tsunami, with his free Re:Antarctica EP, which features four positively endearing original tracks and three handpicked broad-spectrum remixes from Nuages, Koloto, and FXXXYBLNT. It's a serious must listen.

Nearly six years after Italians Do It Better released the seminal After Dark mix, spearheading the career of Johnny Jewel - aka Mr. Chromatics - the label finally put out the much anticipated sequel. The second mix features help from Jewel's aforementioned Chromatics (three songs), Glass Candy, Mirage, Symmetry, and plenty more worth the time.

oOoOO - Mouchette

San Francisco producer oOoOO, aka Chris Dexter, is only a month away from releasing his full-length debut Without Your Love. But before the full LP hits shelves, Dexter debuted the darkly harmonizing and defiantly murky "Mouchette." Pre-orders of the LP are available here, but more music from Dexter is expected to be released before the June 24 release date (via Nihjgt Feelings).

Hey Sholay video - WDYRWMTB

Hey Sholay, a Sheffield/Leeds five-piece, have debuted the newest video for the unpronounceable "WDYRWMTB", from the band's equally hard to pronounce upcoming EP Cloud, Castle, _____.

Directed by Bobby Nassier and members of the band, "WDYRWMTB" (unsure what exactly the acronym means) features simply a young girl performing the sign-language version of the poppy track, which ends up sounding like if Band Of Horses teamed up with Passion Pit.

Ty Segall announces new album, 'Sleeper'

Beloved San Francisco garage rocker Ty Segall, who seems to release an album in some various form every half year or so, announced his newest solo LP Sleeper. The Drag City release, which is set for release August 19 in the UK and August 20 in the U.S., is the first solo LP since last year's Twins release.

Franz Ferdinand announce new album, 'Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action'

Nearly four years after the release of Tonight, Franz Ferdinand have finally announced the proper follow-up, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.

The teaser trailer for the album, the fourth since the band's landmark self-titled debut in 2004, premiered two days ago, which shares a blip of the title track. It's slated for release August 26 in the UK and August 27 in the U.S.

As well, the group will be releasing a special "Passport Edition" of the LP, which will contain a double-vinyl copy, a CD copy, a 7" with two tracks not included on the official album, an extra 12", a live recording, and four special post-cards from each band member.

New Ryan Hemsworth - Perfectly

In the ongoing Year Of The Hemsworth, the Canadian producer released the lead track from his upcoming Still Awake EP, the surprisingly pleasant and cheery "Perfectly." The release comes before Hemsworth heads out on the European leg of his current tour, one week before the EP comes out.

New Torche - Keep Up

This new Torche track, and the fairly awesome album art above, comes courtesy of the Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club, which totally exists. There's a certain reservation I had initially, considering a lot of the kids I went to high school with were Volcom clothing and weren't the nicest people, but "Keep Up" helps the cause a bit.

Four Tet - Unspoken (Original Version)

Included in Four Tet's 2003 album Rounds, "Unspoken" was augmented on the final release when Kieren Hebden couldn't legally produce the original version. That 2003 version, which contained a sample of the Tori Amos song "Winter," is now available in its full-fledged form courtesy of Hebden's Twitter. Stream and/or download the track below.

The Child Of Lov - Owl (ft. DOOM)

This track, from Dutch producer The Child Of Lov, feels like it creeped out of the ancient unknown caverns of a lost DOOM catalog. The samples are soul-rich southern string arrangements, floating between chambered echoes of dead souls. Oh and DOOM is here. So that's good enough for anyone.

FYF Fest reveals 2013 lineup

One of the country's more continually underrated music festivals, FYF Fest, has announced the stellar 2013 lineup - marking the event's 10th anniversary.

Leading the way are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio, My Bloody Valentine, and MGMT, with a strong line of notable mid-tier and undercard inclusions. Included are: Deerhunter, The Breeders, Death Grips, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Dan Deacon, Nosaj Thing, METZ, Yo La Tengo, Washed Out, Les Savy Fav, Shlohmo, Kurt Vile, and plenty more (plus comedians).

Click the poster above to see the full lineup, as of today. Passes for the two day event, which takes place August 24-25 at the L.A. State Historic Park in Los Angeles, start at a reasonable $99. Sales will begin at 12 p.m. pst, Thursday, May 16. Single day tickets will be available at the same time for $65.

New Raekwon - Son Of Sam

There has to be an urban legend floating around somewhere that the members of Wu Tang have immortal styles. Regardless of it coming out in the mid-90s or today, the members of legendary collective never seem to lose even an ounce of a step. If the new Ghostface Killah output 12 Reasons To Die wasn't convincing enough, Raekwon's "Son Of Sam" should.

With the help of producers Frank G and Roads-Art, the jazzy rhythms are paced by the cut-throat verses from The Chef. It's a serious must listen.

Jon Kennedy - Tonto Rides The Gain

Set to be released via his own imprint, UK producer Jon Kennedy debuted the first track off his forthcoming Corporeal LP "Tonto Rides The Gain." The airy trip-hop atmosphere and dust cloud progressions give a little insight to what the full release should be like, which features a slew of notable vocal contributions from acts like Andre Espeut, Amie J, and more.

Check out "Tonto Rides The Gain" below. Corporeal will be released June 24 via the Jon Kennedy Federation.

DJ Falcon and Paul Williams on Daft Punk

In the latest additions to the The Collaborators, The Creators Project introduced a pair of new interviews from fellow Frenchman DJ Falcon and singer-songwriter/actor Paul Williams, the man most famous for writing "Rainbow Connection," on their roles with Daft Punk's Random Access Memories.

While the latter contributor may be a bit perplexing, both give unique perspectives that weren't apparent in the previous episodes of the series  DJ Falcon (Stéphane Quême) began his rise in France around the same time as Daft Punk as an atypical house DJ, and gives the view on working together as actual long-time friends rooted in similar origins. While the latter talks of a person feeling and mature connection to what the music can be.

Kelpe - Single Stripe

London producer Kelpe will be releasing his Fourth: The Golden Eagle in early June via his own imprint DRUT (how many producers have their own imprints now?), which features the glitchy, fixating "Single Stripe." The track, which features hushed vocal loops with disjointing beat warps, has an equally fixating video from Graphic Surgery. The two go hand-in-hand, with GS augmenting geometric shapes with the bursting rhythms.

Mixtape: Groundislava - Treasure Chest

B&B doesn't really pay tribute to base level pop a lot, for somewhat obvious reasons (you aren't here for that), but truly quality remixes of anything are usually worth the time. Producer Groundislava has been doing this for years, releasing mind-warped versions of comparable pop hits from the likes of Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and others. He put all his memorable past works together in his Treasure Chest mix, which is available for any price via his Bandcamp page. Also included among the aforementioned artists are remixes of Miguel's "Adorn," Shlohmo, Utada Hikaru, Kanye West, and the brand new original chiptune track "Time Alone."

New The National video - Sea Of Love

While the buzz for Trouble Will Find Me is getting uproariously high ("Album Of The Year" considerations have been passed around already), The National have released the first official video from the record for "Sea Of Love." No it's not that Cat Power song which is still pretty damn great. But this one is good too. Bonus, this is possibly the only video from the group that might be considered "funny."

Chance The Rapper and Nosaj Thing - Paranoia

"Paranoia" is the newest prize from the ongoing Yours Truly project Songs From Scratch. Yesterday, the site premiered the collaborative effort of Los Angeles producer Nosaj Thing and the emerging Chance The Rapper, which resulted in this toned down, melodic, change-of-piece "Paranoia." Like the other singles from the series, the two sides wonderfully stand out and fit together at the same time. Fans of Nosaj Thing may have expected this, but Chance's ability to change styles is pretty commendable considering he hasn't been doing it for long.

New Thundercat - Oh Sheit It's X

The second single from Brainfeeder resident funk bassist Thundercat's upcoming LP, "Oh Sheit It's X," is an uproarious joy. It seemed pretty improbable to follow up the wondrous nature of "Heartbreaks + Setbacks" with its tiding experimental tones, but "Oh Sheit It's X" does its best to revisit Thundercat's '70s inspirations.

New Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - Noble Drew Ali

Pulling in heavy horns and low-hum beats, Constrobuz gives Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire a sample worth his thicker-than-most verses on "Noble Drew Ali." The song comes from his upcoming mixtape Kimset, which will be featuring the likes of Danny Brown, Flatbush Zombies, Heron, and more.

As part of the launch from Woetone, a new imprint from Serbian label Svetlana, the imprint released the four-track Birth Body EP earlier this month featuring tracks from UK piece Wanda Group and Belgium's Ssaliva.

The latter of which contributed this stark yet engrossing black-and-white video for one of its EP contributions, "Die Gem." Check out the video below and stream the entire EP as well.

New Joey Bada$$ - B.A.R'd (ft. Action Bronson)

Featured on this year's XXL Freshman Class: The Mixtape is this piano-heavy cut from Joey Bada$$ with a little help on the end from Action Bronson. It's a retro-fitting sample for these two relatively young rappers, constructed by regular Bada$$ contributor Chuck Strangers. It's also available as an individual download courtesy of Strangers' label Pro Era.

Tomorrow, PhilaMOCA; Parquet Courts

Saturday, May 4: Brooklyn-via-Texas upstart punks Parquet Courts will be joined by Scott & Charlene's Wedding, Amanda X, and Household for a special $10-only all-ages show at the PhilaMOCA.

It's a return performance for the band, which has been on the road since October after earning some love for the Light Up Gold LP, after performing at Kung Fu Necktie in mid-January. Noisey recently followed the band on the tour, filming stops at Monterrey's Festival Nrmal and SXSW. Recollections Of The Wraith uses two tracks from Shabazz Palaces to offset the wondrous visionary spectacle. The short film is the 12th part in the group's homage to award-winning science fiction writer Octavia E. Butler, who died in 2006.

The group used the enthralling, deeply naturalistic locations of Washington state's Methow Valley, the Cascade foothills, and the town of Carnation (which has the Tolt-MacDonald Park and Campground). Watch it below.

New Vampire Weekend - Ya Hey

Still less than two weeks before the release of Modern Vampires Of The City, there was a culmination of buzz about "Ya Hey," which had only been heard by sources who were lucky enough to get a promo copy of the album. Considering "Diane Young" was a fine enough single in its own right, the hyped reputation of "Ya Hey" was a bit curious.

Today, Vampire Weekend released the third lyric video from the upcoming album, in a furiously celebratory fashion. Champagne (labeled "Ya Hey) is popped throughout from the top of the New York skyline, with the  surprisingly solemn song playing through. For the first time, Ezra Koenig seems to be playing with bigger elements, talking of love and the evolution of devotion, with the band employing more backing vocals than ever before.

It's a big jump, which comes with the help of producer Ariel Rechtshaid, who's plenty familiar with big pop acts.

Modern Vampires Of The City is set for release May 14 on XL Recordings.

Vampire Weekend on Later ... With Jools Holland

Starting off the furious whirlwind of performances before the release of the band's third album Modern Vampires Of The City, Vampire Weekend stopped over Later ... With Jools Holland with a couple new tracks. First, the album's lead single "Diane Young," leading into "Unbelievers." The appearance comes after the Steve Buscemi-directed performance last Sunday at New York's Roseland Ballroom (Buscemi is a distant relative of band member Chris Baio, in case you forgot) and nearly a week before the band's upcoming Saturday Night Live appearance.

Animal Collective - New Town Burnout (Shabazz Palaces remix)

One of the standout tracks from Animal Collective's upcoming Monkey Been To Burn Town (can't get enough of that title) remix EP comes from West coast avant-garde rapper group Shabazz Palaces. The twisted take on Centipede Hz track "New Town Burnout" comes with distant aural spacing and free-falling verses from Ishmael Butler, turning it into a deconstructed eight-minute burner.

Monkey Been To Burn Town, which also features remixes from Gang Gang Dance member Brian DeGraw, Teengirl Fantasy, and Tha Traxman, is due out in vinyl and as a digital download May 27 from Domino Records. Those who pre-order the 12" will receive the Brian DeGraw remix of "Monkey Riches" immediately.

Oneman's BBC Radio 1 set

Stepping over at Diplo and Friend's BBC Radio 1 a couple weeks back was resident Rinse FM DJ Oneman, with a tremendous 60 track(!) mix session. Going into details of the behemoth set is possible overkill, but Oneman doesn't leave too many steps uncovered. It's heavy in acid house, hip-hop, and endlessly engaging.
