Canblaster - I Think About U

Club Cherval affiliate Canblaster has a new EP coming September 16, which shows a bit of a direction for the French dance producer. Standout "I Think About U" certainly has some neo-soul elements in play, but the experimental touches - filtered with the undeniably catchy break at 1:30 - make for something fairly extraordinary. Stream the effort below and pre-order the Infinite EP here.

Mixtape: Knxwledge - Touching Bass (Noisey Series)

The newest installment in Noisey's Touching Bass mixtape series comes from LA producer Knxwledge, who packs the near 40-minute smash with low-hung rap hits, warped with mind-melting production. The whole effort is available for stream/download below, and comes with a special interview with the 25-year-old. In it, he talks about his love for jerked chicken, his sneaker collection, and the Jersey-centric samples he taps into on the mix (including a lot from Hype Williams 1998 film Belly, starring Nas and DMX).

Julianna Barwick - The Harbinger (Live on Take Away Show)

Director Derrick Belchman penned this wonderfully shot footage of atmosphere music extraordinaire Julianna Barwick for the most recent Take Away Show performance. Fans of La Blogotheque will be familiar with the beautiful take, but in case you're new here, get up on all of it now.

The footage was taken in the consistent majesty of Iceland, which seems astoundingly fitting for Barwick's style with "The Harbinger." It comes from her wonderful new LP Nepenthe, which is available now on Dead Oceans.

Mixtape: Flatbush Zombies - BetteroffDEAD

Ultra-prolific rap trio Flatbush Zombies just burst your Thursday wide open with the brand new BetteroffDEAD mixtape. Group member Erick Arc Elliott does the majority of the production, but two of the 19 tracks feature help from Harry Fraud and Obey City. Additionally, OLD rapper Danny Brown sits in on "Drug Parade" and Action Bronson helps out with a guest verse on "Club Soda."

Stream the whole effort below, which available for free download.

Jacco Gardner - The End Of August

After releasing his debut album and touring, Dutch musician Jacco Gardner has come back with a brand new 7", "The End Of August" b/w "Notus." The former is available below, and features the multi-talented Gardner sitting in on every instrument outside of drums for the gently-swaying effort. The 7" is set for physical release September 24 on the Trouble In Mind imprint, and will be made on 500 random-colored vinyls. Until then, stream "The End Of August" below.

CRUSHING BLOWS - Dreams On/Dream Off

Over at Music Ninja, shoegaze fuzz outfit CRUSHING BLOWS debuted the second piece of the new Double-A Side release with "Dream On/Dream Off." The first of the two tracks, "Unknown Animal," debuted over at The 405 before, just in case you forgot the other stuff that I do. Stream "Dream On/Dream Off" below, which is also available on the group's Bandcamp before the October 7 release, courtesy of Snug Recording Company.

EP Stream: L. Pierre - Surface Noise

Fans of Arab Strap front-man Aidan Moffat might not be too familiar with his outside efforts as L. Pierre. The aesthetic between the two projects is noticeably parallel, with L. Pierre's playing the role of an older, investigative producer. On his brand new EP Surface Noise, available to stream in full below, Moffat explores open lanes of space and vintage-sounding scratches, parlaying between indignantly modern styles while visiting haunting older sounds.
