Crate Diggers on J Dilla

Yesterday, Fuse ran the newest and most-welcome addition to the site's Crate Diggers series, focusing on Detroit legend J Dilla. His mother Maureen Yancy, his brother John (Illa J), and J. Rocc are among the featured guests on the documentary, which takes a look at Dilla's early habits and broad-based tastes.

It's a fun look at the increasingly beloved producer and gives fans a new perspective at the mind that was. Check it out below.

More J Dilla mixes from Kutmah

Earlier this month, Brighton producer Kutmah offered up a tribute to the late-great and frequently mentioned J Dilla on the sixth anniversary of his death. While NTS fans may have seen several other tribute mixes added to the collection, they kinda fell under the wire here. And while the anniversary may have passed, anytime we have an opportunity to celebrate Dilla is a good time.

Stream Kutmah's two additional Dilla tribute mixes below.

New J Dilla(!) - Anthem

With a seemingly endless back-catalog of music, the legendary J Dilla is still shilling out gold even after his death in 2006.

Later this year, PayJay Productions, Inc., which Dilla founded in 2001, will be distributing The Diary later this spring. The long-lost album is one of Dilla's few full vocal albums, featuring "Anthem." The track, which you can stream below, will be released as a 12" with "Trucks" as the B-Side.

The 12" is available for pre-sale right now over at Rapcats.com.

Kutmah's J Dilla Mix

Know me well? Well then you might know I worship the legacy of J Dilla, the legendary Detroit producer/rapper who died six years ago yesterday. To celebrate his influence, Brighton producer Kutmah released this hour-long mixtape of classic J Dilla material on the NTS Sketchbook Radio Show.
