Typically summer offers a handful of songs you can turn to as possible contenders for the song of the summer. Last year we had MGMT's "Time to Pretend" and hearing it still takes me back. Ahh... 2k8.
Summer 2009 has been a little different. I can't point to a single song and say 'this song will remind me of this summer,' there just isn't one. What we do have however is a whole slew of songs that are certainly about summer. I featured many of them in the Summer09 mix that I put together a few weeks back.
This week's show was an attempt to focus on many of these songs about summer or songs having a 'chill' vibe. For me summer 2009 will be remembered as the summer of 'chill' summer songs.
