The Dead Weather (Jack White Yay!)

To announce the opening of his new label, Third Man Records, Jack White decided to drop a new indie-garage-rock supergroup on us as well.. and oh yeah, he's in it! The group is fronted by that sexy grrl from The Kills, Alison Mosshart. With a fellow Raconteur on bass and a Queen from the Stone Age on guitar you can bet this will have a fairly unique sound... I would say none of those bands really sound alike in any sort of way so that has me excited.

It took me half the song for it to dawn on me I wasn't hearing Jack White's voice and I already knew he wasn't singing for this group... that is him in the background banging the drums.

The single is Hang You From the Heavens and the b-side is Are Friends Electric which is a Gary Numan cover. You might remember Numan's other hit, Cars. The Dead Weather have an album coming soon...
